Churches and Convents Argentario

The most noteworthy buildings are:

the church of Saint Erasmus in Porto Ercole, wherein are housed the tombstones of the Spanish commanders;

the convent of Saint Joseph near Monte Argentario, placed on the top of the promontory it houses two relics of Saint Paul;

the Co-cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Orbetello, a magnificent edifice which was renovated by the Orsini family between 1370 and 1376, it is characterized by a Gothic façade;

the Church of Saint John in Magliano is sober and refined in style, its rose window, consoles, cornice and the travertine capitals reveal the simple and prized architectural style of Francesco di Giorgio Martini.
